Norfolk Financial Corp is a sleezy debt collection company that violates federal laws.
Norfolk Financial is reporting conflicting and bogus dates, addresses and other inaccurate information to Experian, Trans Union and Equifax in attempt to collect on an account that should not appear ANYWHERE on my credit report because it was closed in 1994 with the original creditor.
No wonder Norfolk Financial Corp is currently under investigation by the Massachusetts Attorney General and Rhode Island Attorney General offices for multiple violations of both the FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT and FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT.

hello i just wanted to give my story about norfolk Financial, mine is a long story, I filed bankruptcy and there was a credit card that was discharged that I received in a divorce but because it was in both mine and my ex wife name they went after her and harassed her for the money. so I was taken back for contempt and told to pay the card even though it was discharged. The card that was 6500 is now 16,000 and no matter how many offers I made and payment offers I made they wouldn’t take anything but the whole amount, they then told me to stop giving my pet his meds that keep him alive, s hut off my phones and my cable, stop putting money into my retirement fund and pay them 500 a month for 2yrs to pay the whole thing. When I said I couldn’t they again went after my ex threaten court and jail time if not paid. I again had another contempt charge on me due to them not working with me and refusing every payment I offered them. so I was stuck writing out a check for the full amount and taking the money out of my retirement fund as a hardship. Or I would be going to jail within 10 days. I find it very unfair how they harassed me and threatened me to make me pay the whole amount. I am working with a lawyer to sue them as of now. and hope something happens to them. with this time and money problems for them to refuse money and payoffs is just crazy.
